Squadrons and a better start
Squadrons
Windfire is now a team game: join a squadron, or create your own, and win together every week.
Join or create: the Social tab now opens on your squadron. “Squadrons for you” suggests the ones from your country, and Brise suggests one after a duel victory. Creating your own costs 1,000: pick its name, its crest and who can join (anyone, on request, or from a trophy count). A squadron holds up to 30 members: a leader, officers and members.
The Radio: ready-made phrases and emotes, which everyone reads in their own language. Your squadron announces arrivals, victories and new ranks there. Under “Who’s up for a duel?”, a “Challenge” button starts a friendly duel in one tap.
The weekly operation: every ranked duel earns stars for your squadron, 2 for a win and 1 otherwise, and each of the three squadron challenges adds 20. Tiers at 40, 120, 250 and 400 stars each unlock a chest, up to the Golden Arsenal. The chests arrive on Monday for every member who played 3 ranked duels that week.
The squadron leaderboard: the stars of the last four weeks make up your squadron’s trophies, worldwide and in your country.
Everywhere in the game: your squadron’s crest shows on your profile and in the duel face-off, and the end screen shows the stars each ranked duel brings it.

A better start
This update also polishes your first steps in Windfire. You learn the camera in the very first minute, Brise gives you your first crate, a welcome pack awaits, and every friend you bring in earns you chests.
Take control of the camera
Before the tanks even arrive, the first mission teaches you to move the camera. The clouds open over the battlefield and the camera is yours.
-
1Zoom in
Spread two fingers, or roll the mouse wheel forward.
-
2Go see their base
Drag the ground, or click and drag.
-
3See everything
Pinch two fingers, or roll the wheel back.
One successful gesture, or 20 seconds, and you move on to the next one: nobody gets stuck. Meanwhile the war goes on in slow motion and nobody fires at your base.

Your first crate, a gift from Brise
On your first ranked duel victory, Brise gives you 100: “Enough to open your first crate!” Then Brise shows you the way: the Shop tab, the Chests, and the crate waiting for you.
The gift comes once per account. Already won some duels? It’s waiting for your next victory.

The welcome pack
Right after your first crate, a welcome offer opens for 48 hours, at €3.99:
1,000;
a reinforced crate, whose contents you see before buying;
the Shark missiles and their Bubbles trail, exclusive to the pack: a toothy grin, an eye on the nose and a trail of bubbles.
The offer stays at the top of “Featured” for 48 hours, with its countdown, and can only be bought once. It’s available on the web and on Android.

Invite your friends, earn chests
Each new friend who comes through your link earns you 100 once they’ve played 3 games over two days (it used to be 5). New: at 1, 3, 5 and 10 friends, a skin chest is added. It holds a skin you don’t have yet, and a rare one at the 10th friend.
The Friends screen shows your four chests above your ten slots. Brise reminds you on the home screen, especially when you’re just one friend away from the next chest. And “Invite” takes you straight to your friends.

Interceptions are easier to see: the Saber is drawn all the way to its target, and the explosion goes off when it hits. Before, it vanished just before contact.
